Despite the stars Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior scoring the winning goals, their celebration was dull and lacked enthusiasm, a striking scene that raised questions among the fans.
This is due to several factors, most notably being eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals by Bayern Munich, in addition to competing for the league title, with the point gap widening against Barcelona.
The players, especially Mbappe and Vinicius, also faced sharp criticism from the Santiago Bernabeu fans, who booed them, prompting them to settle for a quiet celebration. Vinicius made sure to apologize to the fans after scoring his goal.
