Dutch Economic Reports: Inflation Eases in August, Industrial Production Declines

Separate reports from the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Netherlands revealed on Tuesday that the inflation rate edged down in August, aligning with expectations, while industrial output continued its downward trend.

In August, consumer prices rose by 3.6% year-on-year, a slight decrease from the 3.7% increase observed in July, marking the highest inflation level for the year so far. This reduction in inflation has mainly been attributed to a 5.6% drop in fuel costs and a 3.5% decrease in clothing prices.
Conversely, the cost of services saw a rise of 1.08%.
Additionally, another report indicated that industrial production fell by 4.4% year-on-year in July, following a previous decline of 5% in June. This marks a sustained decrease in production since July of the last year.
