The army explained in a statement that this operation, carried out today, Wednesday, is based on the directives of the political level and coordination with the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. The spokesperson emphasized that the Israeli army continues to work in cooperation with the international community to strengthen, denying the claims of a ‘deliberate starvation’ in Gaza, describing them as ‘false.’
It is noted that on Wednesday morning, the first batch of the ninth convoy of Egyptian aid entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing, as part of the continuous humanitarian support provided by Egypt to the Palestinians amidst the deteriorating situation.
The Egyptian ‘Cairo News’ channel reported that hundreds of trucks loaded with aid headed towards Gaza in a coordinated operation, including food, medicines, medical supplies, infant formula, tents, as well as generators and water.
These movements are part of the official and popular efforts exerted by Egypt to provide urgent medical and food relief to the people of the sector, who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. The people of the Gaza Strip are experiencing unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of rising death tolls due to malnutrition, especially among children, the sick, and those with disabilities.
From October 7, 2023, to August 5 of the current year, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of more than 61,000 Palestinians, in addition to about 151,000 injured, according to the Ministry of Health data.
