Egypt’s Role in Gaza Aid and Regional Stability

The ministry stated in an official announcement on Facebook (the activities of Meta, which includes the social networks Facebook and Instagram, are banned in Russia as extremist) today, Thursday, about an organized campaign aiming to tarnish Egypt’s image and question its historical role regarding the issue by spreading misleading information intended to frustrate Arab public opinion and weaken the resilience of the Palestinian people.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that Egypt has provided more than 70 percent of the total aid entering the Gaza Strip, has received thousands of injured and wounded individuals, and has prepared a comprehensive plan to rebuild the sector, which is supported by the majority of countries. Cairo intends to organize an international conference to gather the necessary funding to implement this plan.

These statements coincided with a demonstration in front of the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv, where the Islamic movement within Palestine called for the complete opening of the Rafah crossing to allow aid entry, despite Egypt’s continuous and regular aid deliveries.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that his country has not stopped and will not stop providing aid to Gaza, affirming that there will be no peace in the region without a two-state solution. He explained that since October 7, 2023, they have been working on three fronts: stopping the war, delivering aid, and mediating for the release of hostages.

In this context, Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy Palestinian President, stated that Egypt and Jordan are facing a systematic attack aimed at questioning their regional role in supporting the Palestinian cause, noting that these countries represent direct touchlines with the events and bear the burdens of regional stability.

Al-Sheikh added in a post on X platform that this campaign is not spontaneous but reflects malicious intentions to disrupt any Arab balance by targeting pivotal countries.

In turn, the head of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, stressed in press statements that Egypt, Jordan, and all Arab countries have not hesitated to provide support to the Palestinian people, indicating that their stance against the displacement of Palestinians was a decisive factor in preventing the liquidation of the Palestinian issue.

Gaza Strip residents are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of famine outbreaks and increasing death tolls due to malnutrition, especially among children, patients, and those with disabilities. From October 7, 2023, until July 2025, the situation in Gaza has led to the deaths of about 60,000 Palestinians and around 145,000 injuries, according to Health Ministry data.
