During a speech at the Police Academy, President Sisi stated that “there are ongoing Egyptian efforts being made to stop the war in Gaza,” expressing his appreciation and respect for U.S. President Donald Trump’s genuine will to end the war in Gaza during the current negotiations.
President Sisi added that “there are American envoys coming to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations with a genuine intent to end the war in Gaza,” inviting President Trump to visit Egypt to sign an agreement to end the Gaza war if it is reached.
The Egyptian President emphasized “the necessity to seize the opportunity to reach a final agreement to end the Gaza war during the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiation round.”
Indirect negotiations have been taking place in the Egyptian capital since last Monday between delegations from Hamas and Israel, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, as part of the plan proposed by President Trump to end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip over the past two years, release hostages, and begin the reconstruction phase.
These developments come days after Hamas announced its acceptance of the principle of the U.S. initiative, with several Western and Arab capitals confirming their support for Trump’s efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement.
