The production of Emily in Paris Season 5, starring Lily Collins, has been halted due to the unfortunate death of a team member.
As reported by People, assistant director Diego Borella passed away at 47. Borella collapsed on the set of Emily in Paris in Italy, where the crew was filming the new season.
He was declared dead while preparing for a scene at Hotel Danieli in Venice.
Medical staff on-site tried to revive him, but Borella died at the location. A local physician later confirmed a “sudden heart attack” as the cause of death.
The incident has led to a temporary suspension of shooting for Emily in Paris Season 5, according to People.
Diego Borella, a notable Venetian professional, was educated in Rome, London, and New York, with a background in visual arts and literature. He had recently joined the team in Italy for filming.
An official statement from the show’s producers is awaited.
