Emirates Unveils Art from Recycled Aircraft Parts

Can you imagine a horse head crafted from unused airplane parts? Emirates, Dubai’s flagship airline, has introduced a piece of art made from recycled components of its decommissioned aircraft.

Locally designed and crafted, this artwork not only embodies the nation’s cultural heritage but also showcases the innovative potential of upcycling, turning old materials into creative new forms.

Emirates has previously repurposed aircraft materials for unique projects. In April, the airline launched a series of limited-edition backpacks, using 50,000kg of materials from 191 planes.

These ‘aircrafted’ backpacks were distributed to students in Africa, supporting educational efforts for the underprivileged. This initiative was applauded by Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who praised it as a “beautiful initiative” and shared Emirates’ video on social media.
