Energy Minister Mohammad Al-Bashir visited the Jandar Thermal Power Station in Homs Governorate yesterday, Thursday, to inspect the operations and support the electrical grid. The report indicated that the minister examined the operational units at the station, which were recently rehabilitated. He listened to a technical explanation of their working conditions and the measures taken to ensure continuous production and improve operational efficiency.
Jandar Thermal Power Station is one of the prominent stations in the central region and has undergone maintenance and rehabilitation recently. The technical teams at the Jandar Power Plant have recently completed maintenance and rehabilitation works on the steam unit, as part of a work plan aimed at increasing the station’s efficiency and enhancing performance reliability.
The maintenance work focused on repairing the first turbine at the station, which included fixing the turbine blades and replacing coils, adding new production capacity of up to 90 kilovolt-amperes to the national power grid. The station, located 30 kilometers south of Homs city, is one of the main stations responsible for supplying electricity to the country.
