Proud of your home garden? Dubai invites you to join a contest offering prizes totaling Dh300,000.
Dubai Municipality has announced its latest home-garden competition, encouraging residents to transform their spaces into sustainable, water-efficient mini-oases. The contest, “The Most Beautiful Sustainable Home Garden in Dubai,” motivates homeowners to plant eco-friendly species, save water, utilize renewable energy, and innovate in design.
The competition is open to Dubai villa residents—both owners and renters—with outdoor garden spaces. No farming experience is necessary. Indoor and rooftop gardens are not eligible.

Entries close on December 21. Judges will visit shortlisted gardens in January and February 2026, with the winners announced in March 2026.
Ten winners will be chosen based on criteria like water efficiency, biodiversity, soil health, maintenance, safety, and innovation. Prizes include Dh100,000 for first place, Dh70,000 for second, Dh40,000 for third, Dh20,000 for two others, and a Dh10,000 raffle for the top five finalists.
“Dubai Municipality not only plants trees but also promotes environmental awareness in every community,” stated Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Awadi, Director of the Agriculture Department. “We believe beauty begins within the community.”
Last year, nearly 200 participants joined, supported by over 150 community workshops on soil care, smart irrigation, and selecting climate-suitable plants.
This initiative supports Dubai’s goal to create greener communities. In 2024, the municipality planted about 216,500 new trees—around 600 daily—and expanded green areas by over 390 hectares, a 57% increase.
Residents can register for the competition on the Dubai Municipality website.
