This Wednesday morning, “Fars” reported that the execution by hanging of Mossad spy Babak Shahbazi was carried out following the completion of legal procedures and the ratification of the judgment by the Iranian Supreme Court. The agency clarified that Shahbazi worked as a contractor in the design and installation of industrial cooling devices for companies affiliated with security, military, and communications centers and organizations. He became acquainted with a person named Ismail Fikri, who was also executed on June 17, 2025, for cooperating with Mossad, after being convicted of “waging war against God and corruption on earth” in collaboration with the Israeli intelligence service.
The agency noted that Shahbazi sent Mossad officers precise and private information regarding the addresses of Iranian projects, the nature of activities, how to enter and exit each location, and other important intelligence information. The head of the Iranian judiciary explained that “the process of identification is the responsibility of intelligence institutions, and the judiciary will impose necessary penalties on them based on justice and in accordance with prevailing legal regulations.”
On the night of June 13, 2025, Israel launched an operation against Iran, accusing it of “conducting a secret military nuclear program,” targeting airstrikes at nuclear facilities, prominent generals, and nuclear physicists, and air bases. In turn, Iran rejected these accusations and responded with attacks on Israel. The two sides exchanged hostilities and were joined by the United States, which conducted a one-time attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. Subsequently, Tehran launched missile strikes on the American Al-Udeid base in Qatar on the evening of the 23rd of the same month, asserting that “the Iranian side does not intend to escalate further.” Then, Trump announced a ceasefire agreement, officially ending the 12-day war.
