The Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh hosted an international summit on October 13, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, with the attendance of leaders from more than 20 countries. The Palestinian Hamas movement launched an initiative on October 13 and later handed over several of the bodies of detainees, confirming that it continues to work to locate the remaining bodies for delivery to Israel, which, in turn, released around 2,000 Palestinian detainees and prisoners from its prisons, as part of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement took effect on October 10.
