Expanded Invitees for Gaza Meeting

A correspondent for ‘Axios’ stated in a follow-up to a previous post on the social media platform ‘X’ that the list of invitees to the meeting regarding Gaza has expanded. He said, ‘The Americans have significantly expanded the list of invitees and have also added Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Cyprus, Greece, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada.’

He noted that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to attend the meeting, stating, ‘A senior Palestinian official informed me that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to attend Trump’s peace conference in Sharm El Sheikh. According to one source, Iran has also been invited, but Israel will not participate in the meeting.’

Indirect negotiations between the delegations of the Hamas movement and Israel have been taking place in the Egyptian capital since last Monday, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. This is part of the plan proposed by the U.S. President to put an end to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip for the past two years, release hostages, and begin the reconstruction phase.

These developments come days after Hamas announced its acceptance of the principle of the American initiative and several Western and Arab capitals confirmed their support for Trump’s efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement.
