The explosion resulted in the death of one person and injured 34 others with varying degrees of wounds, as reported by the ‘Straits Times’ on Thursday. The Pakistani authorities stated that rescue teams rushed to the scene of the incident, where firefighters managed to control the fire that broke out following the explosion.
The police explained that the force of the blast caused the glass of nearby shops to shatter and debris to scatter among passersby, which increased the number of injuries.
Medical sources confirmed that four of the injured are in critical condition, while all the injured were taken to nearby hospitals to receive the necessary treatment.
The police continue to investigate to determine the causes of the incident and the conditions under which the explosive materials were stored in the warehouse.
