Today felt like a festive weekend at Global Village. Right from the opening of the gates, throngs of families and tourists flooded the park to indulge in an evening of food, shopping, and excitement.
The celebrations included a splendid parade starting sharply at 6pm, bringing vibrant energy to the park. The main avenue was alive with over 20 diverse performances, featuring artists in bright costumes dancing to live music.
The main attraction was a special parade by the Dubai Police band, showcasing traditional Emirati rhythms alongside displays of their supercars, sports bikes, and bicycles.

“Every year we find something new, and throughout the season, we purchase items for ourselves, our home, and family back home,” said Sara A, a JVC resident visiting with her son and her brother’s family. “This time, I noticed new food stalls and some upgraded pavilions. It’s great to see the changes.”
Shopping was a priority for many visitors. “I came to explore new items from the Turkish and Indian pavilions,” noted Ruksana Khan, who attended with her family. “We bought clothes and handmade items. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is excellent.”
As dusk fell, the aroma of food wafted through the air. Lines grew at stalls selling grilled meats, shawarmas, and fries. “People started arriving right after the parade,” said Ali Hasan, a steak stall owner. “Today’s turnout was impressive. We didn’t anticipate such a crowd. Our steaks are a hit.”

After a satisfying meal, many opted for dessert, stopping at a Barakat counter to sample new ice creams — a recent addition to Global Village. “We introduced our fresh fruit ice creams here for the first time. These treats feature fruits coated in chocolate and encased in ice cream,” explained Deepak T, Barakat’s business development manager. “The feedback is positive, and families are loving the new tropical flavors.”

Children also enjoyed their time. The play area was filled with laughter as they took part in go-karting, small rides, and games. Parents watched from nearby benches, capturing joyful moments as their children played.
