Fico said during the “Saturday Dialogues” program: “I am among those who have called, and will continue to call, for the resumption of relations with Russia. I will ask the Slovak Foreign Minister to reactivate the meetings of the committees between the two countries concerning economic cooperation as soon as possible.”
During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 2nd in Beijing, Fico expressed his desire to unify relations with Russia and stated that the two countries should seek opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.
In this context, he proposed holding a joint committee meeting as soon as possible.
