The statement noted that “the Russian Federal Security Service in the Republic of Mordovia halted the illegal activities of a 39-year-old citizen suspected of committing treason.” The statement indicated that the detained citizen communicated with an officer from the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and provided him with data about the region’s critical infrastructure via the Telegram app in exchange for money.
According to the Russian Federal Security Service, the court ordered the detention of the suspect, while investigations continue to confirm his involvement in other crimes.
