The thrilling story began when Fleetwood’s ball stopped at the edge of the hole during one of the decisive strokes, causing the player and the audience to prepare for an additional stroke. But the surprise happened seconds later when the ball unexpectedly moved and slowly rolled into the hole, amidst the player’s astonishment and the audience’s applause.
Some commentators attributed this strange movement to a ‘fly’ that landed on the ball, a rare occurrence in the world of golf, but it provided Fleetwood with a significant financial boost and an unforgettable moment in his career.
