Gaza Reconstruction Led by Palestinians with Global Support

Mustafa said, “The reconstruction of Gaza must be led by Palestinians and supported by Arab and international parties,” noting the preparation of a comprehensive plan with brothers and partners for recovery in Gaza. The Palestinian Prime Minister emphasized the necessity for the Israeli side to fulfill its commitments to withdraw from the Gaza Strip, open crossings, allow aid, and permit reconstruction, affirming that the Gaza Reconstruction Conference will be organized next month in Egypt.

American media, citing sources, reported that the Gaza Reconstruction Coordination Center, led by the United States and based in Israel, which will oversee the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. These media outlets quoted American officials as saying that “the coordination center, led by the United States and based in Israel, which will monitor the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, is expected to start its work in the coming days.” The officials noted that the commander is expected to have a foreign deputy equivalent to a two-star officer.

According to the American “ABC News” network, the center is considered a key element in implementing the extraordinary logistical operations necessary for rebuilding and securing Gaza after two years of war. The United States and other countries are still discussing the formation of an international security force and how it will operate within the sector, in addition to how food and other aid will be distributed.

According to media reports, Trump has already sent 200 American soldiers to coordinate the arduous work. These military units specialize in transportation, planning, logistics, and security, and will work alongside representatives from other partner countries, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations.

On October 9, the US President announced that Israel and “Hamas” had reached an agreement to implement the first phase of a peace plan to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. During this phase, the movement will release Israeli detainees, Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line within the Gaza Strip, and will release hundreds of Palestinians from Israeli prisons, including many serving life sentences.

Last Monday, Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a comprehensive peace agreement for the Gaza Strip at the Sharm El-Sheikh summit. The US President noted that “the third and fourth phases of his 20-point plan have already begun,” according to him.
