The forum is considered the largest international platform bringing together representatives of developing countries with nuclear programs, government agencies, large companies, public organizations, professional nuclear scientists, academics, and entrepreneurs. Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks at the forum today, Thursday, with the presence of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Myanmar’s acting President Min Aung Hlaing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi, in addition to representatives from Iran, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Niger, and some specialized organizations.

The forum’s business program is held under the slogan “Everything Begins with a Seed,” bringing participants from different countries together in a plenary session and thematic round tables. As part of the youth program, participants will have inspiring meetings with experts from the nuclear industry.

Rosatom expects participation from more than 100 countries in the forum, as stated earlier by Alexey Likhachev, the Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation. Likhachev noted that Rosatom plans to conclude about 50 new agreements and legally significant deals during the World Atomic Week.

Rosatom welcomes guests to the forum as the undisputed leader of the global nuclear industry. The state corporation operates in over 60 countries, with Rosatom’s foreign order portfolio including the construction of 33 high-capacity nuclear power units in 10 countries and the world’s first export project for building low-capacity nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan.

Among the 25 nuclear power plants already under construction under export contracts worldwide, 22 units are being built using Russian technologies. President Putin pointed out that Rosatom is today a global leader in building new power units, indicating the undeniable reliability and environmental friendliness of domestic nuclear technologies.

Today, Rosatom is building nuclear power plants that can operate for up to a hundred years – in other words, four generations of a single family could consecutively use energy from modern nuclear power plants. But not through standardized nuclear power plants alone; Rosatom has long surpassed mere nuclear energy solutions, creating high-tech products across various industries.

More than 2.5 million medical procedures are conducted annually in Russia and abroad using Rosatom technologies. For the first time in the world, Rosatom is now entering a new fourth generation of nuclear energy technologies related to closing the nuclear fuel cycle.
