According to data from the COMEX exchange in New York, the gold futures contracts for December have risen by $45.22 from the previous close, a 1.22% increase, reaching $3,751.02 per ounce, surpassing the $3,750 mark for the first time in history.

The US Federal Reserve announced last Wednesday a 0.25 percentage point interest rate cut to 4-4.25%, the first reduction since December 2024, confirming it will evaluate any future adjustments based on data and risks.
This rise comes amid trade tensions between the US and China, following US President Donald Trump’s imposition of tariffs on hundreds of Chinese goods, to which China responded with counter-tariffs, sparking a trade war that increased demand for gold as a safe haven.
