Graham Gold: The Legend of Dance Floors

As music evolves, Graham continuously refines his style to energize any dance floor.

After a 15-year career at London’s leading station Kiss FM, Peach, a legendary club night that thrived in London for 13 years, remains vibrant in Agia Napa and has now made its mark for the third time in Dubai. With new residencies at premier events like Slinky (UK) and Manga Rosa (Brazil) this year, Graham deserves recognition as a true legend.

Kate, the owner and promoter of Peach, from Still Moving Event Management and Promotions, spoke with me on Monday during their visit, arranging an insightful chat.

Having known Graham since my early clubbing days and being a fan of his Friday night show on Kiss, this was a wonderful chance to discover why Graham continues to dominate the dance scene.

Peach debuted at Legends in London in ’93 with Graham as the face of Kiss FM. “The concept was simple: For the people, By the people, featuring the best new music. It was a time when house music was unified, before subgenres, and Peach defied boundaries as it evolved.”

Peach thrilled clubbers weekly, packing 1,800 true ravers in one venue with only resident DJs.

Original residents Graham Gold, Dave Lambert, Darren Pearce, and Craig Dimech curated a unique eight-hour clubbing experience, starting with vocal house, moving to tribal sounds, breakbeat, and trance, culminating in hard house and dirty techno by morning. Dutch trance gained popularity, building Graham’s connections with European DJs like Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, and Ferry Corsten. “I introduced these guys; Peach was their first UK club.” The success of Peach led to larger venues, moving from Cafe de Paris to a brief stint at Leisure Lounge, before settling at Camden Palace, Peach’s true home. No place like it! Think Peach, think Gold! Graham Gold performed at Peach @ Zinc on Tuesday.
