Hamas stated in a communiqué: “Brother and Mujahid Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, the head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, performed the funeral prayer for his martyred son, Hammam, and the martyrs of the treacherous assassination attempt in Doha. This occurred after special security arrangements in the State of Qatar.” The Palestinian Hamas movement mentioned that the Israeli raid on the Qatari capital, Doha, last Tuesday, resulted in the death of five of their delegation’s escorts, including the son of the leader Khalil Al-Hayya, head of the movement in Gaza, in addition to the death of a Qatari security personnel.
In a statement last Tuesday, it was stated: “The Israel Defense Forces and the ‘Shabak’, through the air force, precisely targeted the leadership of the Hamas movement.” It added, “The leaders targeted have led Hamas’s terrorist activities over the years and bear direct responsibility for the acts committed on October 7, 2023, and for managing the war against Israel.”
The Israeli army continued in its statement: “The army and Shabak will continue to work firmly until the eradication of the Hamas organization responsible for October 7.” Earlier, the Israeli army’s Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, threatened to eliminate Hamas leaders abroad amidst the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
