According to a knowledgeable source speaking to a Western news agency, Sheikh Mohammed discussed this proposal, which was conveyed through intermediaries during talks held in Doha on Monday. He urged leaders to take a positive stance to support efforts aimed at ending the conflict and releasing the hostages.
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, announced that it is ready to immediately sit down at the negotiating table after receiving proposals from the American side to discuss the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for a clear declaration of a ceasefire and the withdrawal of forces from the Gaza Strip.
Hamas added, “In this context, the movement welcomes any steps that contribute to ending the aggression against our people and confirms its readiness to immediately sit at the negotiating table to discuss the release of all hostages in exchange for a clear declaration to stop the war, and the complete withdrawal of forces from the sector, and the formation of a committee to manage the sector from independent Palestinian figures.”
The movement confirmed that it is “ready to immediately hand over power to a technocratic committee after receiving a concrete guarantee from the enemy of its commitment to this agreement.”
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump called on Hamas to accept the American conditions related to the peace agreement in Gaza, noting that the Israeli side has already agreed to them. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated on Sunday that the war in the Gaza Strip could end tomorrow in only two cases.
Gideon Sa’ar’s statements came during a press conference with the Danish Foreign Minister in the occupied city of Jerusalem, a day after the Palestinian movement reiterated its stance that it would release all hostages if it agreed to end the war and withdraw its forces.
The residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, as UN organizations warn of famine and an increase in deaths resulting from malnutrition, especially among children, patients, and people with disabilities.
From October 7, 2023, until August 26, the ongoing war on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of approximately 63,000 Palestinians and around 158,000 injuries, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
