Novak told reporters, “As you know, the demand for liquefied natural gas is currently high due to the shortage caused by events in the Middle East.” Novak pointed out that Turkey has not requested Russia to supply liquefied natural gas, noting that both countries have gas pipeline infrastructure that is not currently being used to its full capacity.

He continued, “As of May 1st, the volumes of Kazakh oil supplies that were passing through the Druzhba pipeline towards Germany will be redirected to other available logistical routes. This is due to the technical capabilities available at the moment.”

Earlier, Dmitriev warned of the consequences of the European Union’s decision to abandon Russian energy sources, considering that this move will lead the continent into a “difficult economic phase.”
