The video, which is one minute and 20 seconds long, is titled “They Eat What We Eat.” It shows the hostage in a state of fatigue and emaciation inside what appears to be an underground tunnel, moving between sitting and walking.
Earlier, “Saraya al-Quds,” the military wing of the “Islamic Jihad” movement, released a video last Thursday of another Israeli hostage taken during the same attack. The video lasted over six minutes, where the hostage spoke in Hebrew, identifying himself and urging the Israeli government to take action to release him.
Media sources identified the hostage as Rom Breslavsky, an Israeli-German citizen, who had a video released by an armed faction allied with “Islamic Jihad” on April 16. The Palestinian “Islamic Jihad” movement announced last week that contact with the hostage had been lost, confirming at the beginning of the latest video that the footage was recorded over a week ago.
A video published by a United Nations agency showed aid distribution in the Gaza Strip. The clip, released by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on July 30, documented moments of gunfire in close proximity to dozens of Palestinians lining up for food supplies.
This comes amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the United Nations has warned of the risk of a “widespread famine” after 22 months of war following the October 7 attack. The sector is entirely dependent on humanitarian aid, amid a strict Israeli blockade that has led to severe shortages of food and medicine.
