Humanitarian Aid and Crisis in Gaza

The Jordanian News Agency (Petra) reported on Wednesday evening that the Jordanian Armed Forces and their Emirati counterparts conducted two air drops over the Gaza Strip to deliver humanitarian aid and relief to the Palestinian residents in Gaza. The agency confirmed that “16 tons of food supplies and baby formula were airdropped across various areas of the Gaza Strip.” It also noted that “in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, approximately 73 tons of essential supplies have been airdropped into Gaza over the past few days.”

In a related context, the death toll from famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip has risen to 154, including 89 children, after 7 new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. Palestinian medical sources indicated that “21 people were killed by Israeli army gunfire since Wednesday morning, most of them were waiting for aid.”

The Gaza Strip is facing the worst humanitarian crises, with its residents suffering from severe famine imposed by Israel since October 7, 2023. From October 7, 2023, until the current month of July, the war on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 59,000 Palestinians, in addition to approximately 143,000 injuries, according to the Ministry of Health in the sector.
