India prepared for their Asia Cup Super Four match on Sunday by defeating Oman by 21 runs at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

After choosing to bat, India scored 188 for eight, thanks to Sanju Samson’s impressive 58 off 45 balls in their final group stage match.

Oman responded with determination as captain Jatinder Singh (32) and opener Aamir Kaleem (64 off 46 balls) launched a 58-run partnership for the first wicket.

Following Singh’s dismissal by Kuldeep Yadav, Kaleem teamed up effectively with Hammad Mirza (51 off 33 balls) to add 93 runs for the second wicket.

However, they struggled to keep up with the required run rate. With both falling in quick succession within five balls, India secured the win by limiting Oman to 167 for four.

India rested their pace leader Jasprit Bumrah for this match, while left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh made his tournament debut.

Bangladesh will compete against Sri Lanka on Saturday in the first Super Four match at Dubai International Stadium.
