This was stated in an official statement, according to the ‘Times of India,’ which indicated that the Indian army clarified that the incident resulted in the death of one of its soldiers. The statement explained that the Indian forces managed to thwart the infiltration in the early morning hours, noting that the area had witnessed the killing of militants in a similar clash a few days earlier.
In a related context, local authorities in the Samba region imposed a night curfew within two kilometers of the international border. It extends from 10 PM to 5 AM daily for two months, to enhance border guard operations and prevent any illegal activities, allowing movement only for necessary reasons and with identity verification.
This comes days after the killing following armed clashes in the Kulgam area of South Kashmir.
