Retailers in the UAE are experiencing a shortage of Apple’s latest iPhone 17 model due to high demand surpassing supply.
The iPhone 17 series, launched last month in the UAE, has sparked significant interest among enthusiasts, with many spending thousands of dirhams to acquire the new devices.
Rajat Asthana, CEO of Eros Group, noted that demand was particularly strong at launch, resulting in initial supply challenges.

Asthana highlighted an “unprecedented demand for the iPhone 17 launch in the UAE,” with a 50% increase in store footfall compared to the previous year.
“The higher-end models, like the Pro Max, are especially in demand. Pre-orders sold out within minutes, indicating demand is likely outpacing immediate supply.”
A spokesperson from Jumbo Electronics also confirmed strong demand for the iPhone 17 series, particularly the Pro and Pro Max models.
“Apple’s new features and color options, such as Cosmic Orange, have thrilled customers. Our stock from Apple is depleting quickly, but we expect regular restocks to meet ongoing demand,” the spokesperson said.
The Indian festival Diwali further boosted iPhone 17 demand for gifting purposes in the UAE.
Limited Availability
Asthana acknowledged stock shortages and limited availability.
“This is due to a mix of high demand, limited initial supply, logistical challenges, and strategic allocation. Shortages may persist, but improvement is expected from November onwards.”
He emphasized that demand is especially high for premium models like the Pro and Pro Max with large storage capacities.
Despite this, some e-commerce platforms and Apple’s UAE online store show limited availability of new models.
