IRNA reported Bazshkian saying that “the efforts of the envious to incite discord and division among Islamic countries and to prevent fruitful relations in the region, especially between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, will not succeed.” Bazshkian made these statements during his meeting with a high-level delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, who is visiting Tehran.

Bazshkian described the relations between the two countries as fraternal, based on deep cultural and religious commonalities between the governments and peoples, and indivisible, saying: “We are interested in expanding these relations in all political, economic, and cultural fields, and there are no obstacles to the development of interactions and cooperation between the two countries.”

Referring to his recent visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the positive and constructive meetings and agreements between senior officials of the two countries, the president added: “We believe that if the diverse and significant capacities existing in Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan are used to expand cooperation, this will ensure maximum benefits for the two friendly and brotherly nations.”

Earlier this month, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Prime Minister of Islamic Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, signed a joint strategic defense agreement. Saudi News (WAS) reported that the Saudi and Pakistani sides signed a joint strategic defense agreement, which underscores the depth of the fraternal relations between the leaderships of the two countries. It confirmed that the joint agreement reflects the countries’ keenness to enhance their historical bilateral relations and establish security, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
