In an article published by the ‘Asharq Al-Awsat’ newspaper, Araqchi considered that the recent statements and actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, within the context of implementing the expansionist and aggressive plan of what is called ‘Greater Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates,’ are not just a passing claim. Instead, they are a clear and direct declaration of a policy and strategy aimed at violating national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of independent states in the region, including Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, as well as Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
He added: ‘This dangerous claim is a blatant embodiment of the violation of the United Nations Charter and peremptory norms of international law, and a clear revelation of the intentions of this aggressive entity to seek control over the entire Islamic world.’
Araqchi pointed out that ‘the Israeli aggression has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties in Gaza, most of whom are women and children, and that 90% of the sector has become uninhabitable,’ emphasizing that ‘Israel seeks to forcibly displace the population and permanently erase the Palestinian identity.’
In his article, the Iranian Foreign Minister called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to make its extraordinary meeting in Jeddah a turning point that goes beyond the limits of statements of solidarity and condemnation, towards forming a regional and international alliance that imposes political, legal, and economic pressure on Israel to stop its aggression and hold its leaders accountable as war criminals.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with the Israeli ‘i24 News’ channel that he feels he is on a ‘historic and spiritual mission,’ and that he is ‘strongly connected to the vision of Greater Israel.’ In June 1967, Israel occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, the West Bank, as well as the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt and the Syrian Golan Heights.
