This was stated in remarks made in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, during a visit by Iranian President Masoud Bazshakian, as reported by Iranian news agency “Mehr” on Tuesday.

Atabak said, “This step came after Iran joined as a permanent observer member in the Eurasian Economic Union, where Armenia represents an important gateway for Iran to the Union’s markets.”

The Iranian Minister of Industry and Trade stated that the preferential trade agreement signed since last May has significantly increased the volume of trade between the two countries. He noted that he agreed with his counterpart to form a joint working group to accelerate the resolution of the remaining issues in this regard.

Mohammad Atabak explained that the discussions with Armenia focus on trade exchange and customs coordination, alongside signing documents related to standardization between the two sides to facilitate the movement of trade and investment between the two countries.
