Azizi denied the accuracy of the reports regarding the resumption of inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in his country. He pointed out that “the upcoming visit of the agency’s delegation to Tehran next week is limited to conducting technical and specialized talks with Iranian officials and experts only,” according to Iran’s Tasnim News on Tuesday.
Azizi explained that “the laws passed by the parliament categorically prevent any entry into Iranian nuclear facilities,” stressing that “any type of inspection is completely rejected and is not part of the program of the government or the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization during this visit.”
Iran has decided to suspend cooperation with the IAEA until the safety of Iranian scientists and nuclear facilities is secured, according to standards and a timetable set by the Supreme National Security Council, after its nuclear facilities were targeted by American and Israeli bombing during a 12-day war last June.
