Iran-Israel Conflict Escalates in 2025

The Supreme National Security Council stated in a declaration that the National Defense Council will be responsible for protecting the country from external threats, focusing on defense plans and enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces. The statement added that the head of the council is the President of the Republic, and it is composed of the heads of legislative and judicial bodies, leaders of the armed forces, and some relevant ministries.

Earlier today, Iran’s army chief, Major General Amir Hatami, warned that the armed forces are at the highest level of readiness and will continue their defensive efforts with determination. Hatami, speaking before senior commanders of the ground force, noted that the enemy has repeatedly tried to harm the regime through multiple conspiracies. However, after the resilience of the Iranian people, they realized their calculations were wrong and made a significant strategic error.

Hatami, in a meeting with ground force commanders, emphasized that the Zionist entity is a stubborn enemy that has proven its criminal nature. He affirmed that Iran, despite the losses, emerged victorious from the confrontation thanks to the resilience of the people and the sacrifices of the fighters, according to Iran’s Tasnim News.

On the night of June 13, 2025, Israel launched an operation against Iran, accusing it of carrying out a secret military nuclear program. The airstrikes targeted nuclear facilities, prominent nuclear physicists, and air bases. Iran rejected these accusations and responded with attacks on Israel. The two sides exchanged hostilities and were joined by the United States, which conducted a one-time attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. Subsequently, Tehran launched missile strikes on the American Al-Udeid base in Qatar on the evening of the 23rd of the same month, asserting that the Iranian side does not intend further escalation.

Trump then expressed hope that the bombing of the American military base in Qatar had “vented Iran’s anger” and that “the path to peace and harmony in the Middle East is now possible.” He also stated that, within 24 hours, the 12-day war could officially end.
