Iran’s Stance on Nuclear Negotiations and Safety

Araqchi stated that “the framework for dealing with the International Atomic Energy Agency will depend on the law passed by parliament,” emphasizing that “the European troika is not a party to the nuclear agreement and no date has been set for the next round of negotiations,” according to Iran’s Tasnim. Regarding Norway hosting negotiations between Tehran and Washington, the Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that “nothing has been settled and no country has been confirmed as a host.” Iran decided to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency until the safety of scientists is ensured, based on standards and a timeline determined by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, after Iranian nuclear facilities were bombed by the US and Israel during a 12-day war last June. In July, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that nuclear non-proliferation is a priority, but clarified that cooperation with the International Agency will be managed through the Supreme National Security Council of Iran for safety and security reasons.
