Zakharova commented in a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website: “Residents of the border areas between Poland and Belarus are deprived of the opportunity to maintain close family ties and traditional human communication. We urge Warsaw to consider the consequences of these destructive steps and to reconsider the decision made as soon as possible.” Zakharova emphasized that “the restrictions imposed by the Polish authorities undermine basic humanitarian principles, foremost among them the freedom of movement of people.” Earlier, Poland decided to completely close its borders with Belarus, including vehicle and railway checkpoints, starting from tomorrow evening, coinciding with the Russian-Belarusian military exercises “West – 2025,” which will take place from September 12 to 16.
