In his speech during the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Araqchi called on Islamic countries to take immediate and coordinated actions, which are as follows: “Completely sever relations with Israel, impose political, economic, and legal sanctions, legally pursue war criminals in international courts, and finally confront governments that support Israel by sending weapons and using veto power against justice,” according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries held an emergency meeting today, Monday, in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, to discuss ways to confront the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, with the participation of representatives from the 57 member states.

The residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, with United Nations organizations warning of widespread famine and rising death tolls, especially among children, the sick, and people with disabilities.

From October 7, 2023, to August 21, 2025, the war on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of about 62,000 Palestinians, in addition to approximately 157,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
