Grundberg stated that “Yemen cannot become a ground for a broader geopolitical conflict,” emphasizing the need for these attacks to stop.
Last Thursday, Israeli fighter jets carried out a series of airstrikes on barracks and military headquarters belonging to the Yemeni group “Ansar Allah” in the capital, Sanaa, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior.
A Yemeni source told Sputnik: “The strikes targeted Jabal Attan, which houses the missile brigade headquarters southwest of the city, Al-Nahdin camp in the presidential compound, the Central Security Forces camp in the Sabain area south of Sanaa, and the Ministry of Interior headquarters in the Hasbah area north of Sanaa.”
The Israeli army statement read: “The air force has just precisely targeted a military objective of the Houthi regime in the Sanaa area.” It continued: “The Houthi regime has been acting aggressively since the beginning of the war with Iranian guidance and funding to attack Israel and its allies, destabilize regional stability, and disrupt international navigation freedom.”
It added: “The Defense Forces are operating strongly against the Houthi regime while simultaneously intensifying strikes against ‘Hamas’ in the Gaza Strip and will continue to move to eliminate any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.”
