The army stated in a declaration that the maneuver will continue over the next three days with the participation of the Central Command, the Air Force, the Technology and Logistics Division, other branches of the Israeli army, and other security forces.
In the maneuver, named ‘Lion’s Roar,’ exercises will be conducted on various escalation scenarios using diverse operational and intelligence capabilities, according to the statement.
The Israeli army clarified in its statement: ‘During the maneuver, enemy simulations, drones, and various weapon systems will be used, and there will be an increase in the movement of security forces and aircraft in the area. In case of any emergency, security forces will update the residents on the latest developments.’
The ‘Lion’s Roar’ maneuver comes after the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, recently reversed his decision to begin reducing the number of Israeli army personnel in the West Bank, following protests from the most extreme wing of the Israeli government.
