Israeli Army Denies Widespread Malnutrition in Gaza

The Israeli army, in a statement, said that “the numbers of hunger-related deaths have been exaggerated to serve Hamas’s goals,” adding that “most of the hunger-related deaths were suffering from chronic diseases,” according to them.

The statement clarified that “investigations conducted by the security establishment, with the participation of medical professionals, showed that there are no indicators of a widespread phenomenon of malnutrition among the residents of the Gaza Strip.”

The residents of the Gaza Strip are experiencing unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of a famine outbreak and a rising number of deaths due to malnutrition, especially among children, patients, and people with disabilities.

Since October 7, 2023, until August 5 of this year, over 61,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, along with approximately 153,000 injured, according to data from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
