Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote: “The Defense Army has begun launching a series of raids targeting military objectives of ‘Hezbollah’ in southern Lebanon.” He continued: “We issue an urgent warning to the residents of the buildings marked in red in the attached maps and the neighboring buildings in the following villages: Mais al-Jabal, Kafr Tibnit, Dabin.” He added: “You are in buildings used by ‘Hezbollah’. For your safety, you are required to evacuate these buildings and the neighboring ones immediately and move at least 500 meters away from them.” The Israeli army was supposed to complete its withdrawal from the areas it occupied in the south by January 26th, but Israel did not adhere to the deadline and maintained its military presence in five strategic points in the south of the country, justifying it by “ensuring the protection of northern settlements,” and continued to launch attacks on Lebanon from time to time.
