The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated on the ‘X’ platform: ‘A number of ships from Hamas’ ‘Fleet of Steadfastness’ have been stopped, and their passengers are being transferred to an Israeli port.’ Earlier today, the organizers of the ‘Fleet of Steadfastness’ heading towards the shores of the Gaza Strip confirmed that Israeli forces intercepted the ships within the Fleet of Steadfastness.
Meanwhile, the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza reported that Israeli forces threatened to stop the ship ‘Alma,’ one of the Freedom Flotilla vessels heading to the Gaza Strip to deliver humanitarian aid and break the blockade.
The ‘Global Fleet of Steadfastness’ set sail at the beginning of September to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid, especially medical supplies, to the region, which is facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster since the crossings were closed in March 2025.
It faces the risk of interception by the Israeli navy, which is accustomed to confiscating ships heading to Gaza and deporting activists. The ongoing Israeli war since October 2023 has resulted in the death of more than 66,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, amid famine and the spread of epidemics.
