Today, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for the occupation and encouragement of its residents to emigrate voluntarily. On Sunday, Ben-Gvir posted a new tweet on his official ‘X’ account from inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque during a provocative tour and performed Talmudic rituals within its courtyards. The Israeli National Security Minister claimed that this is the way to bring back Israeli hostages and win the war against the ‘Hamas’ movement in the Gaza Strip.
In a related context, Israeli media reported that the Prime Minister will give Hamas a last chance to return the hostages in coordination with the United States, following claims by US President’s envoy, Steve Whitkof, that ‘Hamas’ showed readiness to hand over its weapons. Channel 12 Israel indicated that the Cabinet will meet on Monday to make decisions regarding the next steps in Gaza.
The channel revealed advanced contacts between Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump regarding a proposal giving ‘Hamas’ a deadline to release all prisoners. It confirmed that the proposal aims to reach a comprehensive agreement to manage the sector and improve security and humanitarian conditions.
Steve Whitkof informed the families of the hostages that he is working on a plan that would effectively end the war in Gaza. Whitkof confirmed that ‘Hamas’ is ready to disarm to end the war, despite the movement repeatedly stating it will not lay down its weapons.
Hamas responded decisively to reports by some media outlets, quoting US envoy Whitkof, that the movement expressed readiness to disarm. This comes amid escalating international pressures and political initiatives led by Washington through its envoy Whitkof, with declared support from the US President, who is promoting a reconstruction plan in Gaza in exchange for ending ‘Hamas’ military capability.
