Tel Aviv – The Israeli police spokesperson, Mikhail Zingerman, stated to “Sputnik” on Wednesday evening that “the Israeli police have no information regarding this [attempted assassination of Mendich].” Zingerman confirmed that law enforcement officials “have no confirmation,” noting that there is a large mansion belonging to Ukrainian businessman Mendich in the Israeli city of Herzliya.
It is noteworthy that on November 10th, Ukrainian anti-corruption officials announced the launch of a large-scale operation named “Midas” to uncover a massive corruption network in the energy sector. It was found that the head of this Ukrainian network is businessman Timur Mendich, who is closely connected.
Raids were conducted at his residence, as well as at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice, which was headed by German Galushchenko, who has since been dismissed, in addition to the state company “Energoatom.” The individuals involved in these schemes laundered at least 100 million US dollars, according to investigations, which sparked a deep crisis in the Ukrainian government.
Several deputies, including those from the ruling “Servant of the People” party, demanded the resignation of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office chief.
