Smotrich published a new tweet on his official “X” account this Wednesday evening, explaining that Israel has conditions for halting the war on the Gaza Strip, which include the return of prisoners held by “Hamas” in the Strip. The Israeli minister added, “Disarming Gaza and establishing a security zone and freedom of movement in the Strip in the long term.” He emphasized that “this is the minimum for ending the war. Nothing less, and we will defeat Hamas,” according to his statement.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich threatened the Palestinian Authority with “annihilation,” saying that Israel “will annihilate” the authority if it “dares to raise its head” or jeopardizes Israel’s security, as he put it.

Smotrich confirmed during a press conference that imposing Israeli sovereignty aims to prevent the establishment of a “Palestinian terrorist state aimed at eliminating us,” describing this step as “realistic” to face what he called “the political attack” on Israel, according to the Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth.”

He added that Israel will not allow its cities to turn into areas resembling the “Gaza envelope.” Smotrich also claimed that the U.S. administration supports Israel’s position against establishing a Palestinian state, affirming that Israel “will not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state under any circumstances,” stressing Israel’s determination to face any challenges in this context.

Israeli media reported yesterday, Tuesday, that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seriously moving to apply Israeli sovereignty to the West Bank. The newspaper pointed out that “the United States will make strenuous efforts to prevent this event on its territory, in light of Foreign Minister Marco Rubio’s decision not to allow Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to enter the United States.”
