The Pakistani mission added in statements to the ‘Sputnik’ agency: ‘An urgent meeting regarding Gaza is scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 PM [19:00 GMT].’ The Israeli Security Cabinet approved a plan to take control of the city of Gaza, just hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his intention to impose military control over the entire strip, despite the escalating wave of internal and external criticism of the war that has been ongoing for nearly two years on Palestinian territories.
Prime Minister Netanyahu announced yesterday, Thursday, that Israel intends to impose its control over the entire Gaza Strip with the aim of establishing a security perimeter, and then handing it over to a new ‘civil government.’ He added that the State of Israel does not intend to retain control over the strip, but the goal of the operation is to establish a ‘security perimeter.’
The ‘Times of Israel’ confirmed, quoting a statement from Netanyahu’s office, the decision of the Israeli Cabinet. According to the statement, Israel will provide humanitarian aid to civilians outside the combat zones. Additionally, the Cabinet approved five demands to be proposed in exchange for ending the conflict with the Palestinian ‘Hamas’ movement. These demands include disarming the movement, returning all fifty hostages, disarming the Gaza Strip, Israeli control over the sector’s security, and the presence of a third alternative government other than ‘Hamas’ and the Palestinian National Authority.
