The Israeli Prime Minister stated earlier today that “Israel is nearing the end of its war in Gaza,” emphasizing the continuation of operations to defeat what he described as the “remnants of the Iranian axis” and to liberate all captives, according to his statement. Netanyahu made these remarks during the inauguration of the new Knesset Museum in Jerusalem, at the site that housed the Israeli parliament between 1950 and 1966.
Netanyahu stressed that “the victories achieved by Israel demonstrate the strength of its presence and its independence in its eternal capital, Jerusalem,” as reported by the “Times of Israel”. The Israeli Prime Minister also declared on Sunday that he is “determined to end the war quickly,” noting that he has ordered the military to reduce the timeline for taking control of the city of Gaza.
Netanyahu instructed the military to “seize the last strongholds of Hamas, primarily the city, and reduce the timeline for controlling the city of Gaza,” indicating his intention to “eradicate the Hamas movement, not perpetuate it.” He affirmed that “Israel will impose security control over the Gaza Strip and establish an alternative civil administration that includes neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority,” adding that his country “will surprise Hamas in various ways and has the capability to eliminate it.”
