The Cabinet stated in a communiqué that an “agreement has been approved between the Jordanian government and the government of the Russian Federation regarding the mutual abolition of visa requirements for citizens of both countries.” According to the Jordanian News Agency “Petra,” this decision aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations and open new horizons to serve their mutual interests. Tourists will not need to obtain a visa for travel lasting no more than 30 days. The agreement was also signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the Russian “Interfax” website.

In June, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov indicated that the ministry had signed an agreement in April for the mutual abolition of visa requirements with the Sultanate of Oman. He explained that similar agreements will be signed with Jordan, Myanmar, and several other countries in the Middle East and Asia.

He noted that in the near future, the duration of stay for electronic visa holders is expected to be extended from 16 days to 30 days, clarifying that there are 64 countries whose citizens can obtain an electronic visa to visit Russia.
