The Kremlin released a video showing President Putin welcoming the Belarusian President on Russian island territory. The spokesperson for the Russian presidency (the Kremlin), Dmitry Peskov, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko will hold an informal meeting today, Friday, to discuss bilateral relations and the international agenda.

Peskov added in a press briefing: “All aspects of bilateral relations will be discussed, including trade and economic relations and the implementation of union projects, in addition to an in-depth exchange of views on international issues.”

Earlier on Friday, the “Pol Perov” channel on Telegram, close to the press office of the President of Belarus, reported that the two heads of state will also discuss regional security issues.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Belarus for two days on June 26, where the Russian President’s plane landed at Minsk airport. During that time, he attended the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, with the participation of several leaders.
