The Royal Court, in a statement, reported that King Abdullah II and the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Representative, Kaja Kallas, emphasized the importance of reaching a two-state solution as the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace.
During the meeting, the Jordanian monarch stressed the need to adhere to the implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to the region, and halt Israeli actions against Palestinians in the West Bank.
The agreement came into effect on October 10, 2025. On the 13th of the same month, US President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a declaration to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
Under the agreement, the movement released 20 individuals who survived since the events of October 7, 2023, in exchange for Israel releasing approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees from Gaza, including those serving long sentences.
